She’s always felt like there is more to the world than what we see. When Volkan comes into her life, she realises she might just be right. With blue eyes and her signature black outfits, she fits her job role as a forensic doctor. Volkan is looking for the key to their family grimoire. It ends up inside the guy Carmen is performing an autopsy on. The girl he hypnotised two years earlier. Coincidence or fate?
Carmen by Alexandrina Krusharska is a fantasy romance about witches. It is not only entertaining but also humorous. The characters were well portrayed. Carmen happens to be bold in everything, so it is not shocking that she is a forensic doctor. Volkan is the good guy. He even feels guilty for doing what he thinks is necessary. The book is centred around love and magic. There is no denying the attraction between the two. The book is also fast-paced.
At the end it felt hurried; the option Carmen was presented with, she took it without consideration. I feel in real life, if one were to be given an option like that, one would need time to think about it, considering everyone around you.
I would recommend this book to lovers of fantasy romance, being that it’s about a witch. It contains a bit of sexual scenes. It was a good and fast read.
